ISO 26262 qualifies functional safety throughout a vehicle’s lifespan. ASIL B, or Automotive Safety Integrity Level B, is a classification within the ISO 26262 standard that addresses the functional safety of electrical and electronic systems in vehicles. It represents a moderate level of risk, typically applied to systems such as body and in-cabin controls. Achieving ASIL B certification requires a rigorous development process, including hazard analysis, fault tolerance strategies, and comprehensive validation. SiliconAuto’s MCU successfully meets these criteria, demonstrating its capability to support safety-critical applications while maintaining performance and reliability.
The verification process involved extensive collaboration between SiliconAuto’s engineering teams and SGS-TÜV Saar’s safety assessors. This included detailed documentation reviews, hardware and software architecture evaluations, and fault injection testing to ensure the MCU’s resilience under real-world conditions. The MCU’s compliance with ISO 26262 ASIL B requirements not only validates its design integrity but also streamlines integration for automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers seeking to meet safety regulations without compromising on innovation or efficiency.
